Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is a developmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts, and experiences the world. It’s called a “spectrum” because it includes a wide range of abilities and challenges—from individuals who have few support needs to those who need more significant daily support. Today, autism is more common than many people realize, with about 1 in 31 children age 8 in the United States diagnosed with ASD*, and roughly 1 in 100 children worldwide. These numbers highlight how many families are impacted and why awareness and support services are so important.

That’s where Coastal Wellness and Counseling, LLC steps in. Through compassionate counseling and therapy services, we help children, parents, and families navigate the unique experiences that can come with autism and other developmental or emotional needs. Whether it’s building communication skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening family relationships, or simply providing a safe space to grow, our approach is centered on real, meaningful progress. Families don’t have to face these challenges alone. Coastal Wellness & Counseling offers guidance, tools, and encouragement to help every individual thrive in their own way.
