Carolyn Loeffler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about the power of play. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work in 2021 and her Master of Social Work in 2024 from the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Carolyn is committed to continued learning and professional growth. She is currently working toward completing the requirements to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT™) under the supervision of Betsy Atkins, LCSW, RPT-S™.

Carolyn has experience working with children in a variety of settings, including community mental health and AWAIC. She integrates both directive and nondirective play therapy approaches to create a safe, supportive environment where children can express emotions, communicate needs, make sense of their  experiences, and develop healthy coping skills.

Grounded in strengths-based and client-centered approaches, Carolyn approaches  each client with curiosity and respect for their unique experiences, abilities, and perspectives. She prioritizes a  collaborative and affirming therapeutic relationship that fosters greater self-understanding, builds upon each child’s inherent strengths, and supports  meaningful growth.

Carolyn is trained in Filial Therapy and believes strongly in incorporating the family system into her work. She views families as important agents of change and is committed  to empowering caregivers and strengthening family relationships. Carolyn is also trained in the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework, which helps children and caregivers better understand patterns of emotion and behavior, strengthen connection, and build practical skills for regulation, resilience, and healthy development..

Outside of her work, Carolyn enjoys spending time in nature and getting lost in a good book!
